Muskies ousted

The Muskie senior boys’ basketball team’s trip to the ‘AA’ all-Ontario championships in St. Catharines was a quick one as they were eliminated after a pair of losses yesterday.
The black-and-gold, seeded last in the 18-team field, lost their opening game 69-30 to the third-ranked St. Francis Phoenix (St. Catharines) yesterday afternoon, then were ousted with a 71-39 loss to the Bishop Morocco Royals (Toronto) last night.

The Muskies trailed only 20-10 in the opening quarter against St. Francis, but then were outscored 20-9 score in the second stanza that put victory out of reach.
Will Anderson led the way offensively with 12 points while Lewis Linklater added 10.
Then against the Royals, the black-and-gold found themselves in an early hole they couldn’t escape from, falling behind 20-7 in the opening quarter and 37-16 at halftime.
The Muskies outscored their opponents 16-12 in the fourth quarter, but it was too little too late.
Scoring details on that game were unavailable as of press time.
