Phone service cut off

Phone service at Riverside Health Care Facilities, Inc. is back to normal after being knocked out of commission for a few hours yesterday.
Road reconstruction work in the area of La Verendrye Hospital late yesterday afternoon resulted in a main phone line being accidently severed.

But due to the fact Riverside recently had upgraded and combined its phone system to include La Verendrye Hospital, Rainycrest, and the health centres in Emo and Rainy River, phone service to all those facilities was affected.
The Fort Frances Community Clinic and some area residents also were affected.
Service was restored by 8 p.m.
