    Fort Frances Jr. Sabres’ forward Logan McDonell worked to get past Kevin Tomalty of the Dryden Ice Dogs during last night’s SIJHL action at the Ice for Kids Arena here. McDonell scored a goal to help the hosts earn a 7-2 victory.

    ‘Sisters of Rethymnon’

    Brenda Jones admired “Sisters of Rethymnon,” one of the dozens of works that were unveiled during the opening of local artist Connie Cuthbertson’s new exhibit, “‘The Awakening’—Memories of Greece,” yesterday evening at the Fort Frances Museum. The reception saw about 120 people stop by. Inspired by a trip to Greece this spring, the exhibit marks a new chapter in Cuthbertson’s art career. It will be on display at the museum through January.

    Talented performer and humanitarian Tom Jackson kicked off last night’s “Singing for Supper” concert at the Couchiching multi-use facility with an inspirational speech. The evening of music also featured performances by Amanda Stott and Beverly Mahood, with proceeds to go to the United Native Friendship Centre here.
