    Logan Morrisseau was one of many students who cast a ballot yesterday at St. Francis School as part of the nation-wide “Student Vote” program. Votes from students across the country will be tallied and the results released alongside the real ones Tuesday night.

    Emo and District Hospital Auxiliary president Heather Oltsher, left, her husband, George Oltsher, and her sister, Frances Gibbens were among those who dressed the part for the Riverside Foundation for Health Care’s “Oktoberfest” party Saturday evening at the Memorial Sports Centre auditorium. The event netted over $22,000 for district health care.

    After smashing the shattered windshield and using the “jaws of life” in order to sufficiently help those trapped inside, members of the emergency response team carefully checked their vital signs during a highly-effective mock fatal car crash demonstration last Thursday by the railway crossing on McIrvine Road.

    Nancy Jones had students gathered around to hear about the beaver and the uses of his tail, as well as to catch a glimpse of the displayed carcass, which attracted much interest. This was done as part of the Seven Generations Educational Institute’s annual “fall harvest” festivities, which ran last Tuesday through Thursday and saw hundreds of students participating.
