    A construction crew began digging this morning to install a storm sewer in the parking lot beside Pharmasave on Scott Street. The store intends to pave the area. Due to the tendency to flood, they are taking precautionary measures with the lot.

    Darryl Skinner, Rosanne DeGagné, and Karen Kuitunen from the local Wal-Mart were at Fort Frances High School yesterday to present a cheque for $3,000 to students and staff members to go towards installing a second Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) at the school. The money was raised through the hard work of Wal-Mart’s local charity committee and Wal-Mart grants.

    The Sabres’ Riley Ferster got a shot off despite being tripped during the third period of his team’s tilt with the visiting Wisconsin Mustangs at Ice for Kids Arena last night. The Sabres broke the ice on their exhibition schedule with a lopsided 9-3 victory.
