    Montana Plasky of the Piranhas took control of the ball while her teammate, Ashton Barnes, gave chase close behind as they took on the Eels in Division II (under age nine) action in the Fort Frances Youth Soccer league yesterday evening at St. Francis Field. League play will resume today at 5:30 p.m.

‘Safer tomorrow’ theme of Police Week

Everyone in Rainy River District can play a leadership role in making our communities safer, Rainy River District OPP detachment commander Insp. Steve Shouldice said Monday at the kick-off to Police Week locally.

Local fundraiser in the works for Manitoba family

A local woman is planning a fundraising bake sale and garage sale here this Saturday for a Manitoba family that’s currently going through some tough times.
“I just thought that there must be something I can do,” reasoned Lisa Lee of Fort Frances, who grew up with Erin Brunel in Swan River, Man.
