Tickets for ‘Hope’ evening moving
Friday, 16 November 2012 - 2:10pmStaff
Women wanting to attend the fun, flirty, and fabulous “Hope in the City” event next Friday night (Nov. 23) are encouraged to get their tickets as soon as possible.
“Tickets are still available but are starting to move,” warned Christine Denby, noting they can be purchase at La Place Rendez-Vous, Fort Floral, and Bombshell, as well as from her.
Included in the $35 admission will be hors d’oeuvres, a “swag bag,” and a stop at one of the glamour stations to have either their hair, make-up, or nails done, or even to be given a massage.
Co-organizer Jennifer Anderson said the event is based on the show “Sex and the City,” and will allow local women to “swap their stuffy business suits for designer labels and trendy accessories; meet their girlfriends and spend the evening indulging, dancing without inhibition, and celebrating life.”
She noted some of the events going on throughout the evening will include a mystery envelope game, silent auction, dessert table, along with the glamour stations.
“You can get a little extra primping done and then pose with your friends for some ‘glamour shots,’” Anderson added.
A while a sit-down dinner won’t be served, there will be plenty of tasty appetizers to enjoy.
“Bring cash,” Denby advised, “as there will be vendors selling products that night.”
There also will be draws and a grand prize of a trip-for-two to New York City.
As well, the evening will feature a luminary ceremony in honour or memory of women who have had cancer, using pink glowsticks instead of the luminary bags.
“So be prepared to get dolled up and do what girls do best—shop, eat and dance,” Anderson enthused.
